WCS instructors have more than 10 years of practical drilling and well servicing experience and are certified to teach IADC or IWCF courses.

WCS offers weekly courses from three convenient locations to meet industry requirements for well control certification.

Since 1979, The Well Control School has been at the forefront of establishing well control standards in support of industry recognized theories and methods for controlling well control events and enhance personnel safety. All WCS certified courses meet US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and the US Government's Code of Federal Regulations Title 30 Chapter II, Subchapter B, Part 250.1504 of Subpart O – Well Control and Production Safety Training.

WCS was the first commercial well control training provider to offer accredited training with System 21 e-Learning in 2001.
